Robots are getting more sophisticated all the time. You don’t need to have the most advanced robot at home to learn more about the field of robotics and explore it. The Ai.Frame is one of many open source robots you can use to learn a thing or two about robots. This miniature humanoid robot is versatile and offers plenty of upgrades and customizable commands. It is powered by smart servos and sensors.

The developers are making two models available:  Ai.Frame Apollo and Ai.Frame REX. You get multiple colors to choose from as well. The Ai.Frame can walk, dance, shoot, and do all kinds of fun things (up to 10 pre-programmed motions). You can program over 300 motions. The robot is compatible with iOS and Android. Windows is also covered.

The developers also have a wearable controller that can capture your movement to allow you to control your robot. These robots are available in self-assembly or pre-assembled sets. Like what you see? The project is now active on Kickstarter.
