In the future, drones will be used to deliver packages. Many companies are already working on such solutions. UPS has announced that it has started testing drones to make commercial deliveries to remote or difficult-to-access locations:
Testing began on Thursday when the companies staged a mock delivery of urgently needed medicine from Beverly, Mass. to Children’s Island, which is about three miles off the Atlantic coast.
UPS has already been testing drones in warehouses to check racks and confirm available space. The CyPhy drone used in this test is battery-operated and durable. It flies itself and has night vision. UPS has shared more info about this test here.
