Meet David: an anthropomorphic robot developed at DLR with variable stiffness actuators in its joints that can work tools such as a hammer drill. They allow the robot to handle external impacts. This video shows David drilling and hammering into concrete.

David tracks the end effector with its head, grasps and picks up the tool, and pulls the trigger. Pretty neat, don’t you think?
