DIY: Smart Mirror with Raspberry Pi

There is no better way to learn electronics and programming than building your own smart home devices. Want to build your own smart mirror? This project by Ben Eagan shows how you can do so with a Pi 3 Model B, 21″ computer monitor, USB speaker, and a few other parts.

Like a few other smart mirror projects we have covered in the past, this one is also based on MagicMirror. You can optionally add Amazon Alexa support to it. Here is how it works:

It all relies on the use of a regular picture frame, and mirrored window film to turn the glass into a two way mirror. Then you enclose a monitor in a wooden frame, and attach the monitor to your mirror.

The instructions are available here.
