In the past few years, we have covered a whole host of gadgets and wearables that use haptic feedback to make VR gaming more immersive. Disney’s Force Jacket is another cool idea worth exploring in this area. It is a pneumatically-actuated wearable system with airbags and sensors that provides directed force and vibrations to the upper body.
The Force Jacket works in correspondence with visual media. It has 26 inflatable compartments. Jacket inflation parameters such as speed, force, and duration are specified using the haptic effects editor.
