Meet HAMR: Harvard’s cockroach inspired robot that can jump, climb, and run at high speeds. It has legs equipped with two actuators mimicking the joints of real insects. The robot can run about 10.5 body lengths in seconds. It can also carry up to 2 times its own body weight, more than enough to carry sensors.

HAMR can survive drops without getting injured. It is ideal for surveying dangerous environments and search & rescue missions. Pretty promising, don’t you think?
