Developing advanced neural interfaces to add natural hand sensation to prosthetic hand systems remains a very exciting topic. DARPA’s Hand Proprioception and Touch Interfaces (HAPTIX) program seeks to address that problem. Its prosthetics simulation software for testing designs facilitates more cost-effective research.
The HAPTIX is being developed by the Open Source Robotics Foundation and Roboti for DARPA. The above video shows it in action.
