Lumos: Bicycle Helmet w/ Brake Lights & Turn Signals

Cyclists don’t put on a helmet just for the sake of doing it. The goal is to rely on it to stay safe on the road. Lumos takes the idea a step further. It is an innovative helmet with automatic brake lights and turn signals to keep you visible and safe on the road. The helmet is rugged and water resistant. It has red lights at the back, which form a triangle, and white lights in front to keep you visible.

You get a wireless remote to activate the turn signals. The brake lights are automatic though. Lumos has an accelerometer to detect when you are slowing down and activate your rear lights accordingly. The battery for the remote is replaceable and lasts up to 6 months. Yet another fascinating Kickstarter project.
