Robots are becoming more sophisticated each and every year. We are going to see even more natural-looking robots in a few years. Roboy has 3D printed bones and joints and can move like a human as much as possible. It is not as stiff as other robots. Roboy has paired actuators operating in opposition at each joint and wires in place of ligaments. Roboy is on show in Germany this week. The goal here is to build robots that are cheaper to build and safer to be around.

Roboy's springy joints move like yours

Roboy has a giant head that can simulate various emotions (e.g. happiness or anger). It can even give you a kiss. How cool is that?
