We have covered a bunch of interesting innovations from Volvo Trucks here in the past. Their new I-Shift with crawler gears allow trucks to start off from standstill with 325 tonnes. The technology enables trucks carrying a heavy load to regulate their speed when moving slowly and reversing. As the company explains:

With the new crawler gears, the truck can drive at speeds as low as 0.5-2 km/h. This helps immensely during precision maneuvers such as in construction and maintenance tasks.

I-Shift with crawler gears offer truck drivers more flexibility on demanding surfaces as well as regular highway. The technology is available for 13- and 16-litre engines from Volvo.
