Meet Erica: a robot girl with a neutral face that speaks in synthesized voice and wants to interact with people and learn about the outside world. It has 20 degrees of freedom and autonomous features. Hiroshi Ishiguro is the the genius behind this creation.
Erica’s upper body is actuated but can’t move its arms yet. Her skin is made of silicone. She has sensors to detect where noises are coming from. The robot also has 14 IR depth sensors, to track where people are in the room, and face recognition capability. Her voice is pretty amazing too.
