Fujitsu Lifebook U2010 Emerges

Picture via Engadget

Fujitsu has announced that they are releasing Fujitsu LifeBook U2010 in 5 color in the U.S. The Fujitsu Laptop is awesome if you are constantly on the go, and Fujitsu points that out exactly in their press release:

The wonders of the LifeBook U2010 extend to busy professionals who need to be constantly on the go, making the long battery life of 8 hours(2) an absolute bonus. With wireless connectivity features and Bluetooth® v2.1 to minimise work downtime for business travelers on the go, it’s simply the perfect mobile companion. Moreover, this tablet-convertible UMPC’s generous storage space (up to 60GB or option of 64GB SSD) means that having big business files on hand for reference is not a problem at all.

I do like the solid state hard drive option and with the improved battery life and all the new features added, this should at least partially satisfy the Fujitsu fans.

Are You Tired Of MagicJack?

You have probably seen the infomercial that has been going on TV for a while now. A guy dressed up in suit keeps claiming that MagicJack is the best invention of the 21st century. OK! That’s overselling and it probably shouldn’t work. But apparently a bunch of people decided to part ways with their money to get free phone service forever.

Now if you are selling MagicJack or you are affiliated with them in anyway, you can claim all these things and more such as MagicJack being the first real cure to cancer or MagicJack being the only way to reverse the Alzheimer’s disease. But the truth of the matter is, many have complained online about the non-responsive customer service of MagicJack.

Here are my thoughts on it. I think Magic Jack is a great gadget but the quality is not exactly as stellar as some sources want you to believe. The customer service also is not going to give you your money back with no questions asked. Worst of all, BBB gives these guys a terrible rating, which means… you should stick with your Vonage for now.

Have You Seen the 7 Inch Eee PC?

Laptop magazine has a bunch of leaked pictures up on the new Eee PC products from Asus. I was never a fan of the Eee PC product line, but they were nevertheless very popular and always among top selling items on Amazon and other retail stores. The new models have slightly improved but we will have to wait and see how they fare as far as performance is concerned.

iPhone 3G Nano? You Can Not Be Serious!

Well. It seems true. Everyday that passes by, there are more indications that Apple will be at it again Christmas time by keeping its hands in your pockets. Apple’s marketing machine never stops and if you can avoid the temptation of iPhone 3G, you will surely not going to turn down iPhone nano, especially Christmas time when 50% of people are drunk and the other 50% are mentally too tired to hang on to their hard-earned money. DailyMail has the story.

The rumors are going around that Apple may allow iPhone Nano owners to play with other wireless carriers such as T-mobile, but at this point we are not even sure whether iPhone nano will be released in the U.S. The U.K seems to be the sure bet, but I can’t imagine the U.S. market not getting any Christmas present from Apple.

Behavioral Gadgets For Insurace Comanies Proves a Worthy Risk

It seem insurance companies are going hi-tech to perfect their art of risk assessment. The top companies are working on hi-tech gadgets that will help them monitor your behavior and assess your risk based on that. For instance, a gadget that will monitor your speed, the number of times you hit the break, or anything else that you do in the car could tell a lot about you as a driver to insurace companies. It seem Progressive is using one, though I haven’t seen it. Seems to be a worthy risk for insurance, though I am not sure how they can sell the whole concept to the consumers. Privacy anyone?

Prius 2010 To Bring Parallel Parking To the U.S Market?

2nd-gen Toyota Prius (US)

Here is another rumor that has been going around a lot. You may know that Prius is basically auto parallel park capable in Japan and Europe, but this feature has not yet been introduced in the U.S. The 2009 series will definitely won’t have it available but now most fans are hoping for Toyota to finally get it right in 2010. Prius is not exactly a cheap car so it’s totally acceptable to expect Lexus like features from it. Here is a video about this cool feature.

Microsoft to heavily use X-Box to push Zune?

They have done that before. X-Box is one of those products that has a cult following, and Microsoft has used it in the past to push their products. But with Zune struggling mightily, the solution could be Microsoft combining Zune and X-box into a new mobile gaming phone device. Right now, Zune is just a sitting duck, waiting to be put out of its misery. But if Microsoft plays its cards right, a X-boxed Zune could provide legit competition for the iPod and iPhone series. T3 has the original story.

Is X-Box 540 Real?

It got to be at this point. Now I am not sure if the name will be that, but where does Microsoft go from here with X-Box 360 aging rapidly. Of course, X-Box 360’s alliance with HD-DVD folks did not pay off as well as Microsoft expect it to, but X-Box 540 will allow Microsoft to put things right and have a device for next generation HD games. Now this is not something new, but as we get closer to the end of 2008, we should hear something from Microsoft about this whole X-Box 540 thing.

Gazelle to resell or recycle Gadgets?

If you haven’t heard of Gazelle before, these guys have redesigned their site to sell and recycle gadgets. Basically, you put your gadgets up on their site. They will buy it from you by offering you a price and then they will send you a box and pay the shipping to you as well. Obviously, when you put an item up, they ask you about the product’s funtionality, any damages that it may have. They also show a chart that shows how the device is depreciating with time. If your device is in perfect condition, you can expect to get back about 60% of what you paid for it.

It’s a very cool green gadget site but the question is if people can get more for the same device from eBay? But do support it if you got a good offer. It’s for a good cause.

The Wind Laptop Goes for $599?

$599 is a bit a little bit more expensive that I thought it would be but it seems the lowest price you can find on the Wind laptop with the supposedly superior battery life is $549. Now I have heard that the blame is going on the oil prices and the raised cost of materials. Very interesting approach to justify price hike!
