Drones are going to become smarter and much more sophisticated in the future. There are already plenty of cool quadcopters available on the market, but they all have certain limits. This video shared by Maximilian Schulz shows multiple quadrocopters circling a pole at speed exceeding 50 km/h and centripetal accelerations of more than 13 g.

High-g quadrocopter training: exploring the limits

Studying tethered quadrocopters flying at high airspeeds provide insight into the physical limits of theses machines and their drag characteristics and propeller efficiency.  Researchers Maximilian Schulz, Federico Augugliaro, Robin Ritz, and Raffaello D’Andrea were behind this experiment.
