Hiriko – the fold-up electric two-seater

Unlike some have assumed, electric cars are not dead by any means. These types of cars have suffered some setbacks in the past. But they are going to be around for a while. The Hiriko electric car prototype is quite exciting. It is very small but it can fold to become even smaller. Its length can be reduced to the width of an ordinary automobile. That means it is possible to park 3 of these cars in one parking spot. Its windshield doubles as the car door, which is neat.

Hiriko has robot wheels which let it turn about its center. The car is entirely powered by battery and goes for 75 miles on a single charge. The car is expected to cost around $17k. Pretty exciting if you ask us though it may be a bit small for our taste.
