Reaction wheel robots are nothing new. Robots such as Cubli use this approach to balance themselves when nudged. This self-balancing curved triangle robot is much simpler but works the same way. You simply have to put it on the ground, turn it on, and it will move until it reaches the balance point. Once there, it will keep its balance using its reaction wheel.
