We all have a bunch of devices that require AA or AAA batteries. Most people prefer using rechargeable batteries these days. The problem is charging, testing and organizing them. The good news is you don’t need multiple devices to pull this off. Take the Ostation 2 Pro for instance: it is an app connected battery organizer with room for 12 AA and AAA batteries. It can charge NiMH batteries of any brand. It is also compatible with Ostation 1.5V AA rechargeable Li-ion batteries. The good folks behind it were kind enough to send us one to test. Our Ostation 2 Pro came in a very compact package. We also got a bunch of batteries and even a flashlight to test it. This battery charger has a touchscreen display that lets you change settings. You can view the info for each battery, including charging time and battery type. You can use the touchscreen interface to change the schedule and connect the battery station to your phone.
You can monitor everything on your phone once connected. You don’t need to order your batteries or put them in a certain direction. This battery station takes care of everything automatically. Each battery is tested before charging. Invalid batteries, including Alkaline ones, are deposited to the invalid battery compartment. Batteries that are healthy stored in AAA and AA holders underneath. The Ostation 2 Pro also has a magnetic charging interface for flashlights on the left side. You can always get it out of the way when you are done.
This battery charger is smart enough to go faster when temperatures are low and slow down when they are higher for safety. It didn’t get warm during our tests. Its display not only shows readings for each battery but also keeps track of your number of fully charged and bad batteries. We were able to get this unit working outside with a power station. It doesn’t consume that much power, nor is it heavy, so you can take it with you camping.
