SoftHand 2.5: Soft Robotic Anthropomorphic Hand

Plenty of researches are working on robotic hands to make life easier for amputees. The SoftHand 2.5 is a soft robotic anthropomorphic hand that can grasp objects of different shapes. It has a single motor to move the fingers and control movement combinations (synergies).

Researchers at IIT in Genova and Università di Pisa are developing soft robotic hands for upper limb amputees. The project is receiving funding through the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation program.
