Smart glasses are nothing new. Google GLASS, EPSON Moverio, and Recon Jet are all interesting devices. SmartEyeglass from Sony are another pair of smartglasses with augmented reality. This transparent lens eyewear connects with your smartphone and shows text, symbols, and images. The device features a CMOS image sensor, accelerometer, Gyroscope, electronic compass, brightness sensor, and microphone. It uses your phone’s GPS to provide you with more relevant information.

The SmartEyeglass offers transparency of 85% and thickness of just 3.0 mm, so it does not obstruct your vision. You get brightness of up to 1,000 cd/m2. The companion SDK will enable developers to bring their augmented reality ideas to life. You will need a device that runs Android 4.3 or later to get the most out of your glasses.
