In the future, you will be able to attach super thin digital displays to your skin to access your data. The e-skin developed by Takao Someya and his team at the University of Tokyo can be laid over anywhere on your body. It looks like a regular plastic wrap but has LEDs that last for several days. When connected to sensors, the display can show your pulse or other bio data.
As New Scientist has reported, the team behind this e-skin is working to display even more information in the future. Will these plastic sheets one day replace our wearables and phones? That remains to be seen.
