Nobody enjoys a cold lunch, but many of us have had to put up with it in the past. You can always use insulated containers, but they are not always fully effective. The AMZCHEF Electric Lunch Box is a battery-powered food warmer that you can take with you anywhere to heat your food when you are ready to eat it. It has a timer and adjustable temperature settings. The good folks at AMZCHEF were kind enough to send us one to test. Let’s see what was included:

Our heated lunch box came in a lightweight package. It included an insulated carry bag, a spoon & fork, and a battery-powered lunch box. The control panel has 6 buttons that you can use to change modes, increase/decrease the temperature, change time settings, and turn the unit on/off. The main device comes with a base, a stainless steel container, a lid with a relief valve, a divider, and an upper cover with latches to keep everything tight. The package also came with utensils and a charger.

This lunch box is so simple to use that we didn’t even have to read the manual. We just had to open it, put our food inside, close the lunch box, and set the right temperature. It is also possible to schedule heating ahead of time. The entire heating cycle lasts 90 minutes, but your food stays warm for an additional 30 minutes. You can adjust the temperature from 170 to 220°F.  The keep-warm mode keeps your food around 160°F. You can always check the remaining battery level on the LED panel.

The HB15 lunch box has a compact design, so you can easily fit it in your bag or car. It is 60W rated, so you should be able to charge it with many modern power stations. We used a Bluetti power station and had no issues. The stainless steel food container has room for 1.5 L of food. We were able to fit a bunch of lasagna and chicken pieces as well as tomatoes in it. We used the divider to keep things separate.

In our tests, the lunch box started heating quite quickly. We used a FLIR thermal camera for temperature readings. The bottom of the food container reached 220°F during the heating process. The outer parts got a bit warm but nothing that makes this lunch box uncomfortable to handle. This unit has a memory function, so you don’t have to start all over again. The cleaning process is pretty easy, too. In most cases, you will just have to clean the stainless steel food container plus your fork and spoon.

The included insulated carry bag makes it easy to take this lunch box around. You can wash everything except the main base in your dishwasher. The unit has 45 W fast charging. What’s neat is you can continue heating your food when it is being charged. You can change the temperature unit by holding the heat button for 5 seconds.

Overall, we found the HB15 lunch box to be very easy to use. It is compact and easily fits in a bag. It heats up quickly and has enough room for a decent amount of food. You can remove most parts for easy cleaning. If you are looking for a portable solution for heating your lunch without a microwave, you should give this one a look.
