Meet the Arc Bicycle: a 3D printed stainless steel bicycle produced using a welding process. A student team from TU Delft in the Netherlands relied on MX3D’s six-axis robotic arms to 3D-print the frame:
The printing process is known as Wire and Arc Additive Manufacturing. By using multi-axis robots, it is possible to print larger objects than other types of 3D metal printing. The Arc Bicycle weighs as a regular steel bike and gives a smooth ride. MX3D has more on the project.
