There are plenty of fancy digital cameras with all kinds of bells and whistles for the pros. You don’t necessarily need those to capture your special memories. The Await is a film inspired 8MP digital camera with shutter & function buttons, an OLED screen, a flash, and WiFi & Bluetooth. It holds up to 3 rolls, each for 24 frames, for a total of 72 pictures. You also get a removable magnetic faceplate.
This camera can be mounted to a tripod. It features USB-C charging. The companion app takes care of the syncing. Even without the app, you can connect the camera to your laptop with a cable. The display shows the number of rolls left, battery level, and the number of pics left. Here are the main specs:
- 8MP Sony IMX179 CMOS sensor (1/3.2″)
- Bluetooth/WiFi
- 1000 mAh battery
- USB-C charging
- 3.86 x 2.68 x 0.59 inches
You get various faceplate colors to choose from. You can find this project on Kickstarter.
