Biofire Smart 9mm Handgun with Fingerprint & Facial Recognition

We hear about mass shootings and other traffic events involving guns all the time, some of which happening with unauthorized weapons. Biofire Technologies aims to change that with its smart gun. It is a 9mm handgun with fingerprint and facial recognition.

This gun unlocks only when user’s identify is authenticated with capacitive fingerprint identification and 3D infrared facial recognition. It has customizable LEDs to show when the gun is armed. User’s biometric data never leaves the firearm. This weapon has IR sensors in the grip to stay armed when an authorized user is holding it. Its rechargeable battery lasts for several months. The Biofire Smart Gun uses encrypted technology, so it can’t be turned into a regular weapon.
