In the past few years, we have seen plenty of clever portable Bluetooth speakers. The Boomin Belts takes it to the next level by letting you wear it around your waist. This Bluetooth 5.3 belt buckle speaker has 2 modes (music & Bluetooth) and 4GB of storage space. It also has a belt clip and an interchangeable faceplate. The good folks behind it were kind enough to send us a unit to review. Let’s see what this speaker has to offer:
Boomin Belts has a magnetic design. Ours came with a long belt, speaker, belt clip accessory and faceplate. A charging cable was also included. This gadget has a modular design, so you can easily replace the speaker and faceplate. The clip lets you attach the speaker to your bag or other clothing items. Boomin Belts has 4 buttons on top that let you turn it on, adjust the volume and change mode with a long press.
The included belt was too big for us but we had no problem adjusting it for our colleagues who tested it. Boomin Belts features Bluetooth 5.3, so you can easily connect to it via your phone or tablet. Uploading audio files is pretty easy as the device is plug and play. Once we connected it to our Windows computer, the speaker was recognized like a regular USB drive. We simply uploaded a podcast we created with ElevenLabs, and the rest was easy.
We tested the sound with our ferrofluid visualizer and Luminglas plasma lamps. Boomin Belts may look tiny but packs a punch when it comes to max volume. Since it is magnetic, it can be attached to exercise machines, golf carts, and other metallic surfaces. For instance, we had no problem attaching this to our Stamina outdoor elliptical and power tower. The speaker unit didn’t look out of the place on our belt even when it was turned off. The best part is you can just remove it and put on the stylish buckle faceplate in a flash.
The Boomin Belts speaker weighs about 2.5oz, so you won’t even feel it. It is ideal for waist sizes up to 56 inches. We got the grey version but the black model also looks very stylish. The battery is advertised as lasting over 6 hours. We did the entire review with all the videos without having to recharge (roughly around 5 hours). Overall, we found the design to be quite clever. You can put everything together and take it apart in seconds. The speaker is quite powerful considering its size. Boomin Belts makes a fun gift for golfers, hikers, and those who enjoy other outdoor adventures.
