Chess computers have come a long way over the years. The latest models use Stockfish and can beat all grandmasters. They have been around for decades. The Boris Master is one of the earliest models we have gotten our hands on. It is very similar to the original Boris chess computer but has a built-in battery. You will have to enter the moves through the keypad.

Since this is 45 years old, you can’t expect its battery to be still functional. The computer is still operational though. Here are the specs:

  • Launch date: 1979
  • Rating: 1260+
  • Processor: F8
  • Speed: 1 MHz
  • RAM: 256 bytes
  • ROM: 2.5kb

You can give this computer more time by adjusting the timer. This computer is stored inside a wooden case, which also holds the adapter and pieces. This is rare but you may be able to find it on eBay.
