Chessnut is easily one of our favorite brands when it comes to chess computers. They make lots of smart chessboards that can pair to your smartphone to let you play against Stockfish or on Lichess & Chess.com. The Chessnut Move and Chessnut EVO are their most advanced chess computers. The first one is a robotic chessboard with app connectivity and an offline mode. Unlike regular chess robots, this one can move multiple pieces at the same time.

The Chessnut EVO is a standalone chess computer. It has a 12.3-inch Android tablet built-in. You can play against Stockfish, Maia, and LC0. You have the option to install third party apps as well. Both boards have smart piece recognition, so you can easily set up positions. Each piece on the Chessnut Move is self-moving, which enables the robot to move multiple ones at the same time. In comparison to the Fidelity Phantom and Square Off, this robot is much thinner. It is slightly smaller than the Chessnut Pro.

The Chessnut EVO gives you access to an advanced set of engines without an app. The Chessnut Move may have an offline engine but to unlock the strongest engine, you will have to connect it to an app. This board can pair to the DGT Pi Raspberry Pi chess computer. The Move lasts up to 8 hours on battery. It comes with a charging dock for all the pieces. The base for them is replaceable.
