3d printed drone

3D printing is changing the way we build things. This technology can be used to print fun little toys or sophisticated drones. Aurora Flight Sciences has teamed up with Stratasys to create the world’s first jet-powered, 3D printed UAV. The aircraft weighs 30 lbs and has a 9 ft. wingspan. It can go as fast as 150 MPH.

This aircraft has 80% 3D printed parts. It is made of ULTEM 9085 (FDM thermoplastic). The above video provides more information on it. What do you think? Are you impressed?
