Anyone who has used an Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, or other comparable virtual reality headsets understands how beneficial a VR treadmill or safe moving platform can be when exploring virtual environments. Researchers at VR Laboratory, University of Tsukuba, have come up with a robotic platform to address this.
We are talking about robotic tiles that move to let users walk in a virtual environment without moving a whole lot in the real world. Users can walk in any direction and these robots can keep up.
