In the future, we will be able to use our skin to interact with smart devices. Take SkinTrack for instance. It is a wearable on-skin touch tracking technique for smartwatches that allows interaction to spill onto the skin, giving users a larger area to work with. It consists of a signal emitting ring and a wristband with multiple electrodes. The system can detect swipes, sliding, and discrete touches.
As the above video shows, SkinTrack can handle continuous tracking with a high level of accuracy. Users will be able to go through their apps with simple gestures on their skin. What do you think? Are you sold on this approach?
