Those of you who have done research on “perpetual motion toys” in the past know too well about the Swinging Sticks. Perpetual motion is not real but this magnetic toy creates an illusion of it. It has even been in a famous movie. We have covered a couple of larger models in the past. The Swinging Sticks Desktop Replica Version is the smallest one yet. It has a more compact design but works the same way. It has a red base and room for 4 x AA batteries underneath.
The base holds a letter A frame with a double pendulum mechanism that speeds up as you start the mechanism. It performs swings smoothly and keeps going as long as you have battery left. In our tests, we did not notice any sound. The box is smaller and softer but still provides ample protection for this toy during shipping.
