In the past few weeks, we had the opportunity to test the TOZO Open Buds and Golden X1 earbuds. The TOZO Tonal Dots are more affordable but still offer great audio for podcasts, music, and calls. The good folks behind it were kind enough to send us a pair to review. Let’s see what was included:

Our TOZO Tonal Dots came in a very compact package with two wireless earbuds, 5 additional pairs of ear tips, a USB-C charging cable, and a charging case with an LED display that shows the remaining charge. The default ear tips worked fine for us but you can always remove them and try smaller ones to get the perfect fit. These may be small but they were impressively loud for us. They feature a 10mm dynamic driver system that delivers richer sound.

The Tonal Dots come with app connectivity. Once you connect to them via Bluetooth, you will be able to use your smartphone to access and customize 16 EQ presets. These earphones support touch gestures. You can use your smartphone to change what each gesture does. By default, you can tap and hold on the right earphone to increase volume and lower it by doing the same on the left one.

You can take calls by tapping on the right earphone and reject them by holding. Activating Siri can be done with 3 taps. The Tonal Dots are extremely sensitive to touch, so even a small contact registered. You don’t need to pair these to each other every time. Simply remove them from the case at the same time and within 10 seconds, you should be ready to go.

We had the opportunity to test these earbuds for 5 hours over 3 days and never had to worry about charging them. They should last up to 15 hours on a single charge depending on how you use them. The charging case increases that to 55 hours. Just make sure you remove the protective films before getting started. The case is compact enough to easily fit in your pocket.

These earphones are great for workouts, listening to music, taking calls, or enjoying your podcast on the go. While these IPX8 rated earphones can withstand exposure to a bit of water, you are not supposed to swim with them. We didn’t have any problem fitting these and getting used to the gestures. We also didn’t have any major noise leaking when blasting out music through these.

Overall, we found the Tonal Dots to offer a lot of bang for buck. They are impressively loud for the price. Customizing EQs and gestures through the app was a breeze. The pairing process is also very straight forward. The companion app lets you manage all your TOZO Earbuds from one place. If you are looking for an affordable pair of earbuds that deliver loud, crisp sound, you should give this pair a look.
