We have already seen how robots and drones are being used to train NFL players, table tennis pros, and other athletes. The Japanese Volleyball Association’s “block machine” is a robotic system that helps attackers improve their skills. It has 3 arms that move side to side in front of the net to block attacks. A coach can move the robot arms and program them for different drills.
As New Scientist reports, these robots travel 3.7 meters per second, which is fast enough to challenge players. Coaches get a sophisticated interface to program the robots. Pretty clever, don’t you think?
