Every serious content creator and video pro knows the importance of having a reliable tripod. To capture a large area like a soccer field, you are going to need a tall tripod. The XbotGo NT4 is an adjustable 4-section tripod for high-angle shots. It can be extended up to 4 meters, making it ideal for capturing large pitches with a DSLR, smartphone, or any camera weighing under 10 kg. Our tripod came with a weight bag and carrying bag. Everything else was already preinstalled. All we had to do was remove the tripod from the box, tighten or loosen the screws for each section, and choose the right height for our shots. It has a standard 1/4″-20 mounting point, so it can hold an AI sports camera (like the Chameleon), an iPhone, or a camcorder/DSLR. You can adjust the height from 4.5 ft to 13 ft.
The feet are non-slip, so you will be able to use this tripod anywhere indoors or outside. It has a steel construction with a matte black finish. According to our scale, this tripod weighs 5.8 lb, so it won’t lose its balance easily. Opening and closing it was a breeze. We used this tripod in our backyard to film the damage a storm did to our property. We just needed a few bottles in the weight bag to achieve the perfect balance.
When completely folded, this tripod measures just under 4 ft long. The bag provides ample protection for the tripod, but it is built well enough that you don’t have to worry about damaging the tripod easily. We used the XbotGo NT4 with our GH5 camera, XA10 camcorder, and iPhone. It did an admirable job in this case. In the tallest setting, you will want to be careful when moving the tripod. You will probably want to use both hands or lower it if you have to move your camera to frame a different area.
The XbotGo NT4 tripod can easily be used indoors in its shortest setting, but it is especially helpful for high-angle shots. It works with smartphone and camera holders from Ulanzi, Edelkrone, and other brands. You can also easily use it with the XbotGo Sports Gimbal and Chameleon to enjoy auto-tracking for sporting events. If you are planning to use this tripod with a smartphone or camcorder, you may want to use a monitor, a remote, or other accessories to control your camera when it is high off the ground. You can use the weight bag on challenging terrain to ensure more stability.
Overall, the XbotGo NT4 tripod is a very solid choice for content creators who would like to cover large areas or sporting events. When combined with an AI camera, it can be used for player tracking and livestreaming. In fact, you can shoot with your AI camera and smartphone at the same time. On its own, this tripod works great with camcorders and DSLRs that are not extremely heavy. It is well worth the investment for capturing tennis, basketball, and football matches.
