So you want to use your Raspberry Pi to monitor earth’s movements? Raspberry Shake has you covered. It is a single channel 4.5 Hz geophone with a an 18-bit digitizer that records earthquakes from magnitude 2 or higher within a 50-mile radius. According to the developers, the device is capable of recording large earthquakes far away.

Raspberry Shake displays data in real-time, allowing you to monitor things on the Internet. It stores data in SEED format. The Raspberry Shake shield works with various Raspberry Pi models. More info is available here.
