Rubik’s cube solving robots are nothing new. They can easily solve these puzzles in under a second. Ben Katz has shared a video that shows a machine capable of solving a Rubik’s Cube in 0.38 seconds. It is built with 6 Kollmorgen ServoDisc U9-series motors and 2 PS Eye cameras.
As the developers explain:
solve time of 0.38 seconds includes acquiring the image from the webcam, detecting colors, finding a solution, and actually rotating the faces of the cube
