There are plenty of fancy stoves and griddles on the market that can cook your food well but tend to be heavy and not easy to move around. Many also don’t work with your existing pots. The AMZCHEF Portable Dual Induction Stove changes that. It is a sleek induction stove with 2 burners. It has a removable griddle, which means you can cook complex meals with it. The good folks behind it were kind enough to send us one to test. Let’s see what was included:

When I first saw the package, I expected it to be somewhat heavy. It has a very lightweight design for an induction cooker. The package included the main cooker, grill pan, and metal lid. The latter has a Bakelite handle, so it won’t get warm while you cook food in it. The induction cooker looks pretty sleek and has knobs for controlling each side. I tried turning it on without anything on it and got an alert. This is a safety feature that makes sure the stove works only when you have a compatible pot or griddle on it.

This induction stove has a button for setting a timer of up to 99 minutes. It has 9 power levels for you to choose from. Each side has a 1100W rating, but if you decide to use both sides, you get a total of 1800W output. There are two LED displays that show the power and temperature levels. At the bottom of the stove, you can find non-slip feet and fans, which activate when you turn it on. A child-lock function is available to make sure you don’t change the settings by accident.

To cook on this stove, you are going to need cast iron, stainless steel, or other compatible flat-bottom pans and pots. If you are not sure whether your cookware is compatible, just use a tiny magnet to test it. To get started, you first need to understand the power and temperature settings. You can adjust the power level from P1 to P9 (400 to 1100W). When both sides are at max level, one side reduces to 700W so the total stays under 1800W. In grill mode, the temperature can be adjusted from C1 (248°F) to C5 (410°F). You can activate the grill function with the push of a button.

The AMZCHEF Induction Stove has a button that lets you adjust the timer from 1 to 99 minutes. You can simply turn the knob to adjust it. When in standby mode, the stove turns off after 30 seconds if you don’t take any action, which is a standard safety feature. I noticed the fans kept running for a minute after I turned off the stove. That is designed to allow for proper heat dissipation. If you decide to remove the griddle top and cook with your pots, the display for the side you used will show an “H” message after you are finished as long as its temperature is over 140°F.

We cooked kebabs in this stove and served them with rice. To prepare the rice, we used a Dutch oven we bought at Walmart. This cooktop was able to handle both very well. The grill and regular cooking programs were quite easy to figure out after one use. The griddle top can be used as a serving tray. It has a nonstick surface for easy cleaning. You can clean the stove with a damp towel. The griddle pan is also dishwasher-safe. I tested the stove with a FLIR thermal camera. It heats up in a flash, so you don’t have to wait too long to start cooking.

Overall, we found this stove to be easy to use. It has a sleek design and works with our other magnetic pans. It has an intuitive control panel for changing modes and setting the temperature. Its main pan has enough room to cook meats and vegetables for multiple people. If you are looking for a powerful, compact stove for your RV or small apartment, you should give this one a look.
