You don’t need a large computer to experiment with AI. In fact, we have covered a couple of boards that let you do just that. The Coral Board is a new on-device AI dev board with a Synaptics Astra SL2619 Edge AI SoC board, 2 GB DDR RAM and MicroSD card slot for your files. The Google I/O edition also has a Arducam OV5647 1080p Mini Camera and mikroBUS hat board.

As Google explains, these boards have a plug & play support for cameras and other modules. You can optionally attach WiFi and Bluetooth modules. You get a Synaptics Coralboard 2GB Limited Edition, Sensor HAT, CSI camera, and CSI flex ribbon cable in the box. You can try a bunch of demos, like gemma_translate and real-time object detection with YOLOv8. As the above tweet shows, this board can run GEMMA3-270M locally.
