Meet Ford’s New Robot Test Drivers
Ford’s Weather Factory is used to simulate a wide range of extreme conditions. The above mentioned robots can handle temperatures form -40C to 80C. They can be programmed to simulate different driving styles. As Ford explains:
The robot test driver’s legs extend to the accelerator, brake and clutch pedals, with one arm positioned to change gear and the other used to start and stop the engine.
