Robots are becoming more sophisticated all the time. Robots playing sports is nothing new. They are not always great at it but fun to watch. The below videos show Jennifer, Ice Hockey Playing Humanoid Robot, taking on a new winter sport in cross-country skiing:

The skiing gait is based on the linear inverted pendulum model and inspired by skating gaits developed for the DARwIn-OP robot. The developers are going to focus on improving the control of the alpine skiing mode. The goal is to enable the robot to go from cross-country to alpine skiing automatically when it detects a change in conditions.

This is quite an exciting project if you ask us. The folks at Autonomous Agents Laboratory are behind it.
