Meet Novena: an open hardware computing device with a 1.2 GHz Freescale quad-core ARM processor. It is designed for those of you who either care about the open source movement or want to modify your hardware in the future. You can build the OS from source and use the documentation provided to get a better handle on things.
You can just get the main PCBA board and build your own system. The developers are planning to ship laptops and an all in one desktop. All configurations will have Debian pre-installed, but you can go with another Linux distribution if you prefer. The project is now up for funding on Crowd Supply.
