Meet the RQ-7B Shadow: an unmanned aerial vehicle used by the U.S. Army and Marine Corps for surveillance, target acquisition, and other purposes on the battlefield. A trailer-mounted pneumatic catapult is used to launch this drone. The drone has a Infrared camera (FLIR), a TV camera with a near-infrared filter, and a laser pointer.
The military is already working on an upgraded version of the Shadow capable of deploying guided munitions and the QuickMEDS system. The above video shows the Shadow drone in action.
