We had the opportunity to back the Segway Loomo robot on a crowdfunding site years ago. Unfortunately, we never got a chance to test it before its site was discontinued. The good news is we had already activated the robot, so we didn’t need to jailbreak to test it. This robot is also a personal transporter, so can use it as a scooter to get around. It is pretty easy to set up and smart enough to follow you with its head.

Loomo Tested: Auto Follow Self Balancing Robot Transporter 🟡 Gadgetify

This robot has a max speed of 4.3mph in robot mode and 11mph in self-balancing mode. It also has a range of 22 miles. It has target and follow modes that you can activate on your smartphone or through its display. Our robot was able to follow us in our backyard without any issues. As long as you don’t move out of its field of view too fast, Loomo can keep up.

The companion app gives you access to voice, camera, follow, follow shot, avatar, and other features. You will also be able to see estimated remaining range and ride time, so you will know whether Loomo has enough battery juice to get you to your destination. You can also remote control this robot from your phone or tablet. The bad news? The main site is discontinued. If you for some reason log out of the app, you won’t be able to log back in. You can always jailbreak this robot though.
