NASA engineer Steve Papell came up with the idea of ferrofluid in 1963. The idea was to find a way to move liquid rocket fuel in zero gravity. These days magnetic fluid is used to make fancy speakers that dance to the beat of your music. We have already covered many ferrofluid speakers here and on YouTube. The SPIROK DJ takes it to the next level. It has an audio mixer, keyboard and DJ pad, so you can play your own music to have ferrofluid react to it.
The SPIROK DJ runs on a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 6 hours. Its ferrofluid vessel measures 10cm in diameter. You can use the included electronic keyboard to create your own music.
