This is the FacePaw pet door: an AI powered pet door with cat recognition and foreign object detection that lets your cats in and keeps others out. It is designed to slide onto your existing pet door in seconds. It uses facial recognition and doesn’t require Bluetooth tags. There is also a fill light that turns on in low light conditions. You also get an app to adjust entry/exit times and adjust recognition settings.
This pet door keeps track of entries and gives you a real-time view. You can manage all features of this door from your phone. A big problem with pet doors is the fact that many of them are not weatherproof or fully sealed, so they let cold weather in. This one is designed to address that problem. It also has buttons on it for control without your phone. On a full charge, FacePaw lasts up to half a month. This project is getting funded on Kickstarter.
