
Robots are getting more agile all the time. We have seen a bunch of them that can do flips, kicks, and other fancy moves. Parkour can be a lot more challenging though. Light-Loco-Parkour is a locomotion system for humanoid robots that enables them to move through complex, challenging environments with agility. This was used on Lightbot 0, a 90‑cm humanoid robot. Thanks to this, the robot was able to climb stairs, traverse stepping stones and perform speed vaults over obstacles.

This humanoid robot weighs 18.9kg. It has 21 actuated joints. As the researchers explain, the policy decides when to move or use a whole-body skill. It can also handle the terrain between obstacles. This robot relies on a chest mounted depth camera.
