Those of you who have used Macs and other Apple devices have gotten used to the idea of using your fingerprint for authorizing certain actions. The immurok brings that experience to your computers. It is a fingerprint sensor for Mac, Linux, and Windows devices. It keeps your data on the device, so you don’t have to worry about them being compromised. This is a fully open source and open hardware project. It runs on a battery for up to 2 month on standby.

This gadget is compatible with Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, and Arch Linux. It lets you use your fingerprint to perform sudo commands on your Linux computer. It is also designed to play well with AI agents, so you will be able to use your fingerprint to authorize risky actions. The immurok can store up to 32 SSH private keys, 50 API keys, and 5 fingerprints. One of these can connect two computers, so you can use a dedicated fingerprint to switch between them. This project is getting funded on Kickstarter.
