Robots can already do many things for us, including playing all kinds of musical instruments. We have already covered a couple of DIY projects that show you what it takes to build your own musical robots. The MegCell Pulse is a 3D printable programmable robot that can be used on any guitar. It has a fully automatic mode or assisted playing with manual plucking.

As the developer explains on Kickstarter, while the system is evolving all the time, Bruce has already developed 3D printable components, control software, mechanical structure, and various other elements to make this system work. Backers will receive the files, assembly instructions, control software, and parts lists, so this is a DIY project that will teach you a thing or two about what it takes to become a serious maker. As the below video shows, the earliest prototype were made with Arduino and very basic components.
