Here is an origami inspired robotic arm that can be used with UAVs to pick up and move things. As SNU BioRobotics Lab explains, adding a robotic manipulator to drones is not always straightforward due to payload limits and size. This foldable robotic arm has a lightweight design and returns to its original shape during take-off and landing.
The arm can stretch from 40mm to 700mm. Each module can withstand over 400 times its weight. Pretty clever if you ask us. More info is available here.
