Have you ever wished you could 7 have fingers instead of 5? The MIT researchers have come up with a wrist mounted robotic device that gives you 2 robotic fingers to take on tricky tasks. The devices takes advantage of a control algorithm that enables it to move in sync with the wearer’s fingers. How can you use something like this? It can certainly help you twist a screwdriver or remove a bottle cap. The possibilities are endless.
For now, the robot mimics the grasping of a hand, closing and spreading apart in responsive to a human’s fingers. In the future, wearers might get to control its force. Yet another exciting project by MIT.
