Meet HECTOR: a 6-legged robot actuated by 18 custom-made joint drives fitted with embedded electronics. HECTOR features flexible and adaptive leg coordination. Legs are considered separate agents, with each leg deciding when to swing. HECTOR can walk across uneven terrains. It can handle obstacles using its insect-inspired evasion reflexes.
